VANCOUVER MAYOR PROCLAIMS OCTOBER 17 - 21 AS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WEEK

This proclamation encourages businesses and community members to get involved and learn more about our local Chamber of Commerce and celebrate its contributions.

Vancouver, WA- The City of Vancouver Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle issued a proclamation declaring October 17 - 21 as “Chamber of Commerce Week” in Vancouver. This designation coincides with the “Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day” observed in the United States on the third Wednesday of October every year, falling on October 19 this year.

Mayor McEnerny-Ogle, alongside City Council Members, presented this proclamation to the Greater Vancouver Chamber (GVC) team during Monday evening’s City Council meeting held on October 17 at the City Hall.

“The Greater Vancouver Chamber continues as an important voice representing businesses of all sizes in this region since its founding in 1890. Our chamber is a critical community partner and problem solver with the unique ability to work with stakeholders, advocate for businesses and communities, support innovation and progress, and work with all levels of government to advocate for policy development,” expressed Mayor McEnerny-Ogle.

The Vancouver Mayor took this opportunity to encourage all businesses and community partners to take advantage of the resources available through the Greater Vancouver Chamber and to celebrate the GVC for their contributions this week.

The Greater Vancouver Chamber is the southwest Washington’s largest business organization, with nearly 1000 members. For over 130 years, the Chamber has been a supportive alliance of diverse member businesses, individuals, and organizations, working together toward long-term business prosperity.

For the GVC President/CEO John McDonagh, it was an honor to receive this proclamation. “We are proud to continue serving the businesses of our region, providing the tools, resources, connections, and a platform for visibility.”

“These past few years have been challenging for everyone, but we can certainly say that one of the things the pandemic taught the Chamber was to continue to be innovative and creative with ideas on how to collaborate, working together to combat new challenges as they emerge. We opened the doors for the Chamber’s programs and services to all businesses and we believe that contributed to keeping our business community healthy and strong, not only through the pandemic but for the years to come,” added McDonagh.

The proclamation read as below:
