Certificates of Origin Seal
Greater Vancouver Chamber offers Certificates of Origin through an affiliation with the American World Trade Chamber of Commerce.
What is a Certificate of Origin?
A Certificate of Origin is an important international trade document that certifies that goods in a specific export shipment are wholly obtained, produced, manufactured or processed in a particular country. They also serve as a declaration by the exporter.
Virtually every country in the world considers the origin of imported goods when determining the duty that will be applied or, in some cases, whether the goods may be legally imported at all.
Certificate of Origin Steps:
- The Greater Vancouver Chamber will only seal a completed Certificate of Origin. The proper Certificate of Origin must be completely filled out and notarized prior to presenting it to the Greater Vancouver Chamber.
When creating your Certificate of Origin please use the Chamber's provided PDF template, and ensure that you have and up to date Indemnity Form for the Chamber's files. Also, make sure you have all information and requirements from both U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Greater Vancouver Chamber.
To request a Certificate of Origin Seal, please send an email to YourChamber@VancouverUSA.com.
The Greater Vancouver Chamber only attests to the documents as they are presented- it is not attesting to the validity of the claim of where the goods were produced. Furthermore, the Greater Vancouver Chamber will not be held liable if the U.S. Company does not present all of the appropriate documentation needed for international importation or exportation, or any other reason that may result in the company's shipment being held at foreign customs.
