City of Ridgefield Seeks Volunteers for Planning Commission

The City of Ridgefield is seeking dynamic and self-motivated City residents to serve on the Ridgefield Planning Commission. These positions are critical to representing the community’s wants and needs in local government decisions. This is a unique and rewarding volunteer assignment that allows members to get connected and make a difference in Ridgefield. Residents who care deeply about our city are encouraged to get involved and share their perspective.
About Planning Commission
The Planning Commission is comprised of seven volunteers who advise the City Council on planning, development, and growth issues for the community. A key focus of the Planning Commission is the implementation of Envision Ridgefield 2045, the City's long-range growth management plan that establishes a vision for Ridgefield's future development over the next 20 years.

Time Commitment:
- Planning Commission members serve four-year terms.
- Regular attendance at meetings at 6:30 PM on the first Wednesday of each month,
- Preparation for meetings,
- Active involvement in the Ridgefield community.
Qualifications:
- Members of the Planning Commission must reside within the corporate limits of the city of Ridgefield, except that up to one member may reside outside the city limits, provided they reside within the Ridgefield urban growth area.
