Friends of the Children SW Washington Friend Raiser

OnPoint Community Credit Union donated $5,000 to Friends of the Children SW Washington for its Friend Raiser held October 1.

The annual fundraiser brought supporters together to meet the organization’s youth and professional mentors, known as Friends, while raising support for long-term mentorship in Southwest Washington. Friends of the Children empowers youth facing significant obstacles through professional mentor relationships for 12 or more years, no matter what.

The Southwest Washington chapter builds on more than 15 years of service to youth in Clark County and new partnerships with Burton and Mill Plain elementary schools in Evergreen Public Schools. OnPoint’s support helps Friends of the Children SW Washington continue building consistent, long-term relationships that help youth work toward their goals.

Council for the Homeless Gathering for Change

OnPoint Community Credit Union donated $3,000 to Council for the Homeless for its annual fundraiser, Gathering for Change, held October 15 at the historic Kiggins Theatre.

The event brings together supporters, partners and community leaders to hear stories of impact and to raise funds for solutions to homelessness in Clark County. OnPoint’s support helps sponsor a community gathering focused on connecting people, partnerships and resources so more neighbors can move toward safe, stable housing.

NW Association for Blind Athletes Raise the Bar

OnPoint Community Credit Union donated $3,500 to Northwest Association for Blind Athletes for Raise the Bar: An Hour to Empower, which will be held October 29.

The event brings business and community leaders together to support programs for children, youth and adults who are blind or visually impaired. NWABA uses sports and physical activity to help participants build confidence, independence, friendships and physical and mental well-being.

OnPoint’s support helps NWABA provide adaptive equipment, instruction and inclusive programs that give participants more opportunities to stay active, connect with others and discover what is possible.
