It’s about that time of the year where our calendars are filling up with meetings to plan Q2, 3, and 4, when all of a sudden you realize it's February. You can tell from my "official" day at a glance that we’re quite busy over at the Chamber, but don’t worry – there are plenty more programs coming very soon that you can partake in. Plans for celebrating the Chamber’s 130th Anniversary will definitely provide new and engaging experiences for members and future-members alike. Pencil in the following dates to make sure you're able to celebrate with us!

Legislative Review Breakfast on Friday, May 15
Lemonade Day on Saturday, June 6
Annual Open Golf Tournament on Monday, June 22
"Sip, Shop & Swing" Women’s Annual Golf Tournament on Thursday, August 13
GVCC's Annual Dinner & Awards Recognition Ceremony on Thursday, September 24

Watch for announcements soon on event details and registration for each of these events.

Chamber Events:

Leads & Needs: Battle Ground - Wednesday, February 12
Meet us at Rocky’s Pizza for Leads & Needs in Battle Ground next Wednesday! With a new location, you’re sure to meet plenty of fresh faces at this monthly Battle Ground-hosted event. Remember, when you bring a first-timer non-member guest, you both will attend for free! Breakfast is always included.

Platinum Ribbon Cutting – Tuesday, February 18
Join the Chamber as we celebrate the grand opening of Stretch Zone! Meet us at 19111 SE 34th Street, Suite 105 from 4-5 PM for food, drinks, and a tour of the location with the practitioners on staff. The ribbon will be cut at 4:30 PM.

Community Events & Updates:

Don’t be Fooled!
The City of Vancouver has received several reports from business owners of phony emails claiming to assist your business. According to the City: "If you receive an email with the heading 'Renewal Information for Business Licenses and Re-Certification 2020' and the salutation 'Hi Certified Business' please disregard the email and delete it. Do not click any links or buttons in the message." More information, here.

Tell Us What You Think!
Together with Support for Early Learning & Families (SELF), you’ll find a survey on our website geared toward learning from HR departments and businesses around SW Washington about child care. How do child care issues affect you and what kind of supports would be the most helpful in addressing these issues? Learn more, here.

Youth Employment Summit – Thursday, March 19
Workforce Southwest Washington (WSW) is hosting the 4th Annual Youth Employment Summit (YES) from 9 AM to 12:30 PM at the Clark County Event Center. This is a perfect opportunity for manufacturing, healthcare, tech and construction companies to increase awareness of their company with their future workforce.

And with that, wishing you all a “chill” and enjoyable weekend!
