The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce’s goal is to “Move Business Forward” and publicity for our members is a big part of that! Our GVCC Ambassador Team, which is made up of volunteer men and women from your community, dedicate their valuable time to suit up in red jackets at Ribbon Cutting events throughout our community. Ambassadors

The Ambassadors bring prestige and fanfare to your location for an official ribbon cutting. The GVCC works with you to create a custom event that suits your needs and expectations.

    >>Ribbon cuttings are scheduled Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm in Clark County and need to be approved by Barb Holbrook, bholbrook@vancouverusa.com or 360-567-1093

Every single ribbon cutting the Chamber hosts is different, just as every business is different. Here are our most popular options:

    • Photo Opportunity Only Ribbon Cutting: Ambassadors and GVCC staff will come to your location and meet your staff only for a 10-20 person ribbon cutting photo.

    • Remote Business Ribbon Cutting: You can schedule your ribbon cutting to take place after a Southwest Washington Leads & Needs event at Beaches or at the GVCC office!
    • Open House Ribbon Cutting: Invite GVCC Members, your clients and the public to your location for a 1-2 hour open house event where your ceremonial ribbon cutting will take place 30 minutes after your start time. Be prepared to supply the food and extend personal invitations and a press release.

    • BAH or BASH Ribbon Cutting Combination. As pictured in this spread, Columbia Credit Union combined their Business and Social Hour event sponsorship ($1000) with a ribbon cutting event and went all out on prizes and food! They had over 300 attendees!

If you’re wondering what fits under 'reasons to host' a ribbon cutting, here are some ideas: grand opening, re-opening, expansion, business anniversary, hosting a new event, major business improvement, major business addition, change in ownership, etc.
